Lisieux; Lower Normandy; France. This photograph was taken in the early hours of D-Day, 6th June 1944 by a No.140 Squadron Mosquito MM312 crewed by F/O J.M. Cartmell and F/Sgt M.J. Hubert using flash bombs for night time PR work. The sortie, which included a target at Evreux as well as at Lisieux was recorded in the Squadron’s Records of Operations quite simply as “Photographs of both targets with the use of 12 flashes. Douglas TBD-1 “Devastator”. GWH 1:48 (Feb a Jun 2013)

Al terminar mis primeras maquetas a 1:72 (P-40 y Ki84), me encontré bastante satisfecho con las técnicas aplicadas y aprendidas (que no dominadas ni mucho menos) y con la mejora o evolución en la calidad del trabajo. Esto me animo muchísimo para acometer un proyecto “mas serio”, sin prisas y con algo mas de detalle.

Para esta nuevo proyecto decidí documentarme aun mas y planificar mejor el trabajo en su conjunto. Muy pronto me encontré con un modelo que me gusto y ademas a una escala de1:48. Nunca he tenido ninguna limitación de mi trabajo a una escala concreta por lo que no supuso ningún problema. El modelo elegido era un avión torpedero de la US Navy, el Douglas TBD-1 Devastator.
